Abstract

Liberation theology emerged as a moral reaction to poverty and social injustice in Latin America with the main perpetrators being the poor people. What is unique about liberation theology is praxis as the first step and theological reflection as the second step. With the uniqueness of liberation theology, it is hoped that it can contribute to Dominican education so that it further complements and gives spirit to the steps of the Dominican educational paradigm. First, liberation theology can help students understand the importance of involvement in the learning process and developing social awareness. Second, understand how social structures can hinder human progress and how to overcome these problems. Third, understand the importance of equality and freedom in education and how to develop critical and analytical skills to deal with issues in society. This research can help develop a more inclusive and emancipatory Dominican educational paradigm. So that in the learning process later, students are invited to be increasingly able to interpret their studies in the face of personal reality and social reality with all existing concerns. In this way, students are moved to be involved as agents of change in order to bring about the Kingdom of God.
